2011; My Resolutions and Your Resolutions

Today, already 7% of 2011 has been completed; what have you done? If you haven't started to work towards your resolutions yet, then now is the time. Here are my own resoulutions;

For my Account
  • To go from 80 range/mage/strength to 85 in all (with 88 strenght). Forget trying to get a 99, I have been playing rs for more than 6-7 years now and achieving a 99 (from 80) is too much for me. Furthermore, I see no extra value (worth the time sacrifice) for having a 99 in the wilderness; your combat lvl will go up, the level of adversity will go up and the action will be slightly faster-paced. That is about all the difference. Contrary to popular belief, you won't gain any major advantage over your foes. Plus I'm not interested in the skill capes either. Mind you, getting a 90 in a combat stat is about just as good as a 99.
  • Sneak my way to 1billion+ through staking and merchanting. Wether staking was gone or not, I've always been a firm believer of 1 prayer (and 1 def.) is best for pking purposes and the fact that prayer was and is still not worth the combat levels that you have to give up for it. Within a couple of days, when pking/staking/free trade re-emerge, the 1 prayer stat will become a beast in the staking arena. And in fact, I am glad that all these pure guides have instructed players for years to train prayer. This just means more potential for knowledgeable players. So 1 billion is my goal. Currently, I am starting with ~15 million worth.
For this lazy site
  • If you write a blog, upload videos, or own some kind of web property, you must know by now that getting views is fun. For 2011, I plan to put this site on the map and expand the reach it has. I see good opportunity for small time fansites to grow. In 2010 I've averaged around 90 daily unique visitors. The goal would be to make that 500+ and if possible even bring that at the 1k daily mark.
If you have a fansite, runescape blog, youtube channel or any other form of web property that you'd like to get a readership/following on, then I encourage you to leave your goals right here in the comments and then remember to come back in 2012 (and from time to time through 2011) to see where you stand. Same goes for your runescape account and your goals on it, some goal in the real world ex. attaining 50 push-ups, being able to run a marathong (or half), get a new job.

When you make a bold statement and tell others, you will be effectively reminded time and time again to stay on track and not give up. Then, work on that goal, today, RIGHT NOW! And remember, time is a thief. Act now!
